Annual General Meeting - November 7, 2009

Around $1,000 was raised for the Maryknoll Sisters through Theme Baskets, apron sale, scarf sale, biscotti & cookies, and empty your purse change.

Dinner Talk - August 15, 2009

Our alumni Grace Hwo and Pauline Fong-Leung gave us two very informative talks; Grace on the Federal Home Renovation Tax Credit and Pauline on wills and being an executor. Dinner followed at the Shun Feng Seafood Restaurant at Parker Place. The Canadian Cancer Society also presented us with a plague to show appreciation for our support of their charitable toy sale each year. We raised $750 for the Sisters that night. Line Dancing

Maria King led us to a series of five line dancing workshops in April to June. Those who participated had a great time learning a variety of dances, like Cha Cha, Waltz, Tango, etc. The fees raised will be donated to the Sisters. We raised $160.

Spring Dinner

Spring Dinner 2009We had our Spring Dinner on February 28, 2009 at the Victoria Seafood Restaurant. It was a night filled with fun, laughter, games, and prizes. We raised $736.25 for the Maryknoll Sisters. Edwina Shuster and Margaret Lau volunteered their time, energy, and talent to make dish cloths and scarves respectively, to raise funds for the Sisters.

Annual General Meeting and Dinner 2008

Our AGM and dinner was held on November 29, 2008 at Victoria Chinese Seafood Restaurant. $430 was raised that night for the Maryknoll Sisters from biscotti sale, 50/50 ticket sales and putting contest.

 

Golf Tournament and BBQ

We had our golf tournament at Country Meadows. Weather was perfect, and we had nine team of golfers and about 50 alumni and friends attended the sumptuous BBQ lunch. Nobody went home empty-handed. Lots of prizes were given out in our prize draws, and we crowned our ladies and men's longest drive and closest-to-the-pin trophy winners.

 

 

 

Physical and Spiritual Healing

Judy Wong is a healer, and performs both physical and spiritual healing. Judy received her gift of healing two years ago while attending the Life in the Spirit Seminar.  She is currently part of a charismatic prayer group that meets every Tuesday at St Paul's in Richmond, and also participates at a healing ministry at St. Mary’s on Joyce Street.

Judy is a dentist, she is the pianist for the10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass at St. Paul’s, and is the daughter of MCS alumni Brigitte Allaye. Judy began her education at MCS, but her family immigrated to Canada when she was in grade 1.
