We held our annual Spring Dinner on February 23, 2019. One of the programs that we did was pay tribute to the Maryknoll Sisters by showing the dinner guests a video entitled – Thank you Maryknoll Sisters for bringing God’s love to us – compiled by Angel Ho (class of 1990). She presented Motherhouse in Ossining, New York, and its Sisters, and Maryknoll Convent School in Kowloon Tong, with some very special and vintage photos – courtesy of Sr. Betty Ann, Moira Conzelman and Tania Souza (both of class 1967). A lot of our alumnae have not visited Motherhouse, and this was a good way to show them these very special pictures. We also took the opportunity in this video to include our congratulations to Sr. Corinne Rost for her upcoming 102nd birthday in July. A bit pre-mature, but we decided to do it earlier rather than later.

A Memorial Mass for Miss Nancy Yu will be celebrated on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church, Richmond, BC, at 5:00 pm.

We are saddened with the loss of a well-respected teacher, Miss Nancy Yu, who passed away on February 5, 2019 in London, England, at the age of 86. She taught at Maryknoll from 1960 to 1986. Besides being a Form 6 Homeroom Teacher, she was our Vice Principal, Head of the History Panel, and Moderator of the Students’ Association.

In honour of the late Miss Yu, Maryknoll Convent School Educational Trust in Hong Kong has set up a “Miss Nancy Yu Memorial Educational and Development Fund”. Please refer to http://www.mcs.hk/trust/donate.html for the Fund details.

Event was very successful; everybody had a very enjoyable and memorable time onboard the Norwegian Sun, which provided good food and service. Centennial celebration of Our Lady of Fatima was solemn and respectable, and daily and Sunday Masses well attended.  The Organizing Committee received much positive feedback about this cruise.  Stronger bonds developed among the Maryknollers.
